Mitre sources widely – from Europe and Africa as well as the United States – supplying an exceptional range of veneers and environmentally-friendly board to the South African market.

Our extensive range of veneers includes timeless finishes like beech, maple and oak as well as exotic variants like Ash Burl and Zebrano.

We also consult with architects and interior designers to supply on-trend veneers, such as our ash and walnut veneers and, more recently, the rough-cut oak veneer, which compliments today's popular rustic look.

Mitre's veneer range includes flexible plywood veneers popularly used in shop fittings. This three-layered veneer is strong and durable yet bends to shape so is ideal for curved and bespoke spaces.

Mitre also meets the growing demand for safer, more environmentallyfriendly products. We import E1 medium density fibreboard, not yet manufactured in South Africa, and stock E1 chipboard, which is manufactured on request. E1 board has a far lower formaldehyde content than the more commonly available E2 board.

All of Mitre's veneers, foils and melamine finishes can be placed on E1 board. Mitre is also among the few companies in South Africa using E1-compliant glue.
